Elgin, Texas, is known for sausage, but after spending some time there for Niza and German’s engagement shoot, I think the small town deserves recognition for its architecture as well. The train tracks and cactus plants against a backdrop of rustic brick walls made for an excellent setting for engagement photos – even more when we stumbled upon the words “the right time” painted above a door. Niza and German were so much fun, too, laughing throughout our trek through town. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this summer.

Mia and Ronnie were such a fun couple to shoot this weekend. They were cracking jokes left and right, which shows in the photos. You can see what a perfect fit they are for each other. I have to give Mia and Ronnie credit here – it was freezing in Austin yesterday, and the wind nearly blew all of us over, but they stuck it out and still had a good time. They are major history buffs and shared all sorts of facts about the Texas Capitol with me during the shoot, including how the statue was lifted to the top of the dome.

Sadly, they are leaving Austin soon, so I wanted to send them off with a little bit of this town to keep with them for a long time. Thanks for letting me be a part of your engagement pictures guys. A prior commitment is keeping me from shooting their wedding photos. I know it will be a beautiful day full of smiles and laughter. Congratulations on your new life together.

We took a trip to Minnesota a couple of weeks ago to visit the state fair and see friends Katie and Bryan. While there, Katie and Bryan brought their energy and affection to the engagement shoot. We had a blast at the shoot, despite the early morning hour. The park setting near the old Pillsbury mill building gave us a natural background as well as some interesting shots with an industrial feel. Hope you enjoy them, guys, and I can’t wait to shoot your wedding next year.

Long time Texas residents, Courtney and Taylor flew in from Georgia to get their wedding details hashed out and an e-shoot to match. Georgia residents now, but these two are as Austin as they get. We had a great time finding Austin locations they can take home ‘til they get back to Texas. They are so gorgeous together, and I can’t wait to capture their moments on their wedding day in June.
